U3A is an international organization dedicated to lifelong learning. Our purpose is to encourage members to listen, learn, contribute, and participate in discussions and excursions on a wide range of new topics.
As of December 2025, we have over 800 members and more than 70 interest groups. Topics range from Jazz & Blues, Current Affairs, and History to Hiking and Ethnic Dining. Group meetings are typically held in members’ homes or local halls.
Once a month the members can meet at the Tauranga Yacht Club or the Katikati Community Hub for a social morning where invited keynote speakers present illustrated talks of major interest.
