The next Katikati U3A General Monthly meeting will be held at the Community Hub (the Centre – Patuki Manawa) next to the Library, from 10:00am – 12:00 noon.
The meeting starts with general business for a few minutes, followed by our short talk which this month will feature Robbie Selwyn, who will talk about some interesting assignments abroad during his career with ExxonMobile.
Morning tea will be at 10:30, a chance to catch up after the Christmas break.
Our main speaker this month is Wymond Symes. Wymond is a Sustainability Consultant who has been with Land Search and Rescue since 2008. The first half of his time was as a volunteer in the field, but more recently he has been operating closely with police in coordinating searches. Trained volunteers play a crucial role in supporting our communities, and given recent climate change events I think this talk will be of wide interest.
