The next Katikati U3A Monthly meeting will be held on Wednesday 13th August at the Community Hub (the Centre – Patuki Manawa) next to the Library, from 10:00am – 12:00 noon.
The meeting starts with general business for a few minutes. For our ‘short talk’ which this month will be from our Book Lovers’ group.
Morning tea will be as close to 10:30 as possible, and will be followed at 11:00am by our guest speaker who this month is Peter Nixon who will give us an in-depth look at the geology of the Bay of Plenty.
Peter has a Batchelor’s Degree and Post- graduate diploma in geography, geology and town planning, and has worked for the Greater London Council on strategic planning, and for the NZ Ministry of Works and Development – Planning division. Peter has taught geology in the Bay of Plenty and run geology field trips
All are welcome to our monthly meetings. There is a $3 door charge to defray costs (venue hire and morning tea)
